Virtual Reading & Poetry for Children Ages (13 – 16)
In this younger youth program, short stories and poems read short stories such as To Build a Fire by Jack London, the lady of the tiger by Frank Stockton and The Veldt by Ray Bradbury. This group facilitation will occur via Zoom and Google Classroom. After readings, the youths would be encouraged to analyse the text and describe what they liked, disliked and connected to. No youth would be forced to share their opinion if they are unwilling. At the end of each month, the younger youths would be encouraged to write their own short story and/ poetry. The goals of this program is to bring out hidden talents these youths may possess and to allow their voices to be heard.
