Youth Assisting Youth was proud to be featured on Susan Hay’s Making a Difference on Global News this past April, highlighting one of our amazing peer mentor matches, Christian and Keke.

Christian joined YAY because he wanted to give back. Having grown up in a tough environment himself, he understood how powerful it can be for a young person to have a positive role model, someone who shows up, listens and believes in their potential.

Since being matched in April 2023, Christian and Keke have built a meaningful relationship rooted in trust, consistency and a shared love of soccer. Their story is one of thousands of powerful examples of what YAY has always been about: young people helping young people grow, thrive and succeed.
