Virtual Reading & Poetry for Youth Ages (17 – 25)
This program is designed to engage youth to reflect upon literature short stories and Poetry. Poems and short stories such as The Lottery and The Yellow Wallpaper will be read in group(s) by a facilitator, who is a student from the University of Toronto. This group facilitation will occur via Zoom and Google Classroom. After readings, the youths would be encouraged to analyse the text and describe what they liked, disliked and connected to. No youth would be forced to share their opinion if they are unwilling. At the end of each month, youths would be encouraged to write their own short story and/ poetry. The goals of this program is to bring out hidden talents these youths may possess and to allow their voices to be heard.
