This grant will be instrumental in empowering YAY’s life-changing impact on at-risk youth and their families across the region.
In 2021, Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) received a $69,753 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Government of Ontario through the Ontario Trillium Foundation to develop a Major Gifts Plan that will guide the non-profit to increase revenue and long-term sustainability. “We are very grateful to have received this OTF grant.
Through the experiences of the pandemic, we know that there are many youth who cannot access one-on-one mentorship or participate in valuable group programming in the traditional way. With the help of the grant we are developing revenue streams to sustain our proven mentoring programs alongside creating new virtual supports to adapt mentoring now and, in the future,” Sally Spencer, CEO, Youth Assisting Youth.
The new project includes the development of a Major Gifts Proposal Template, Donor Pipeline, Donor Cultivation & Solicitation Strategy, Donor Stewardship Program, and Planned Giving Strategy. For years to come, this will better enable YAY to transform the lives of at-risk and newcomer youth and grow the leaders of tomorrow.
Spencer continues, “We are very grateful to have received this OTF grant. Through the experiences of the pandemic, we know that there are many youth who cannot access one-on-one mentorship or participate in valuable group programming in the traditional way.
